"King of the Mountain" Tournament

 

The “King of the Mountain’’ tournament is a sport system designed to enhance conflict resolution skills by changing participants’ perspectives and developing overall character.  Students will be invited to ultimately compete in a one-on-one skills competition, and battle against each other to showcase the talents and skills that they learned from the training program. We will instill skills and values in students of all ages and backgrounds, with an emphasis on leverage & positioning techniques which are fundamental to football and are the foundation of all contact sports.

                           

 

The objective of the King of The Mountain competition:

 

1. Move one’s opponent out of the circle by pushing. This is one-on-one at its best, as participants battle for the "King of the Mountain’’ crown.

2. The key to winning is leverage and positioning. Proper leverage is what makes it possible for smaller competitors to sometimes best those of greater strength and weight. The Sumo leverage and positioning competition ultimately leads to the balanced development of physical, spiritual, and mental abilities.

3. The training program is derived from Chi’s philosophy concept, stating that your subconscious and conscious minds must balance for you to maintain your maximum power and to stay focused on the task at hand.
